I am big fan of cricket, but this is the heights. The amount of fanfare and publicity at the IPL crap is blow out of proportion. There was a time when we all used to get around the tube and see teams and countries fighting to win a test match or a one day. Look at it today, there are all the countries players in every team. To make the matches even worse, we have film actors who are cricket team owners. So now with every new movie releasing, we will have the actors and the for sale cricketers showing up in promos.

This is really funny, I was watching news and we had the Washington Red skins cheerleader performing for the Bangalore team. We are just aping all that happens in the American football, baseball scenarios. But at least in the football scenario we do not have actors creating songs and adverts for the team with owners also performing in the ads.

The funniest and the wierdest of all is, seeing all the cricket players on the auction block. It seem like a cricket prostitution ring (no offense to the oldest trade in the universe, at least prostitution is more sincere). People bidding for the best in cricket with high bids.

These guys have really made this game to the dogs, cricket is a game where small, big, rich, poor everyone used to enjoy this. Now we have made this a big league game, we will not know what to watch and not. The only people who are laughing, are the ones laughing their way to the bank, the actors ( oh no, the so called owners), the players, the media adverts and so on……

So long for a game that is going to be killed a slow death. Couldn’t these film stars be confortable on the silver screen and not interfere in the religious 22 yard game.

I hope I and all the people I know just ignore this entire fiasco of IPL….
